
WORKING MEETING BETWEEN REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ACADEMY AND THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE OF THE REPUBLIC OF LATVIA HELD IN Riga
On 08 January 2026, a working meeting was held in Riga between members of the leadership of the International Academy of Civil Protection and Interaction and the Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Latvia, Major General Andis Dilans.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the organization and ensuring the safety of the civilian population during military operations. In particular, they addressed matters of theoretical and practical training, drawing on the experience of the war against Russian aggressors.
The Vice President of the Academy, Major General Serhii Kryvonos, proposed to the Latvian colleagues a training program for territorial defense units, as well as an algorithm for involving local self-government leadership in planning actions to respond to potential crisis situations.
The President of the Academy, Yevhen Krupa, emphasized the importance of developing clear interaction and coordination between government authorities at various levels and security and rescue services.
Major General Andis Dilans thanked the guests for their useful practical recommendations and expressed interest in new methods of training recruits for security forces, developing territorial defense, and establishing unmanned systems units. He welcomed the idea of creating the International Academy of Civil Protection and Interaction and proposed the participation of representatives of the Republic of Latvia in its activities.
